Kyle & Nikki - March 7, 2009

I have been anticipating this day for over a year now. Kyle and Nikki were engaged Christmas 2007. About one week later they had just about everything booked including their venue... The beautiful, historic Gibson Centre in Alliston. I have photographed many events at the Gibson Centre, but this was my first wedding... hopefully not my last.

Kyle and Nikki are childhood sweethearts. At the age of nine their parents all thought these two kids would make a great married couple. Fifteen years later proved them all right. Kyle admitted, through many tears during his speech, that he has ALWAYS loved Nikki. I myself was moved to tears for at least the 5th time that evening.

Dinner was catered by Bistro 77 in Alliston. Now I have photographed a lot of weddings and generally the food is pretty good... with the odd exception. I have to say... Bistro 77 was by far the best I have had thus far. Amazing appetizers, prime rib cooked to perfection, even the potatoes were mouth watering... and I am not usually a fan of potatoes. If you haven't been, I recommend you go... right now.

Nick, the DJ from "Keep them Dancing" was a really down to earth genuine guy. To be honest, I thought he might be too nice to pull of the job of a DJ. When he stepped up to the mic, I pleasently surprised... he rocked the house!!

From hair, makeup, to flowers, food and music, this day turned out to be perfect. Even the rain was welcome and made for some good shots.
Congratulations Kyle and Nikki. It was a privilege to photograph you entering the next chapter of this truely amazing love story.
Enjoy!

New Studio/ Showroom in Thornton

I have recently opened a studio/ showroom in Thornton. It's in the same location as Kaelynn's Bridal and Day Dream Spa. It's a very exciting venure for all of us and we have big plans to make our one-stop-wedding shop even better. The location is 231 Barrie St. (Hwy 27) in Thornton. My showroom is accessible Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 11:00am-5:00pm, Thursdays 11:00am-7:00pm, and Saturdays 10:00am-4:00pm. I am on out shooting periodically, but you are welcome to come in and check the place out during those hours.

This past Sunday we all collaborated in the name of art. The house we are in is beautiful, however, we have yet to put anything on the walls. Of course, my walls are filling quickly in my showroom, but throughout the rest of the house we need some art. Brides are truely a work of art so we decided to highlight some of the latest fashions. Pam with Day Dream Spa Provided the make-up, and her modelling services. Laura with Kaelynn's Bridal provided the gowns, and Eliza from Occasions Hair provided the hair styles. I did the pictures. Laura's sister, Victoria, also volunteered to model. Both ladies did a fantastic job.

Here is just a sampling. More to follow.

Dave & Domenica

Friday night I found myself at the Caledon Estates Banquet Hall for another wild party.

Dave & Dominica exchanged vows at the United Church in Tottenham and the festivities began immediately following. Domino DJ Services did a fantastic job as usual. http://www.dominoentgroup.com/ The dancing never stopped!!

Dom and Dave both come from very close, loving families and have an awesome mix of friends. There was a lot of love in the room that night. Dave's father was especially surprising. He is 96 years old and he danced up a storm for most of the night... what a guy!! I really had a blast!!
Congratulations Dave & Dom on your new life together and your new beautiful family. It was a pleasure meeting you both and photographing your very special day.

Stay tuned for a party collage.

Matt & Holly

YAY MATT & HOLLY!!! Holly is a good friend of mine and I couldn't be happier for her... she really met her match in Matt... he's a great guy and it's obvious these two are soulmates. They couldn't take their eyes off each other all night long, they smiled so much their cheeks hurt, and they danced up a storm! They really set one of the most beautiful love tones I have witnessed at a wedding. After their first dance the floor filled with couples gazing into eachothers eyes. I often felt a little intrusive taking pictures of this phenomenon , but most couples were oblivious to fact that there was a camera in their face. It was an awesome love filled night!! I am thrilled for you two... thanks for asking me to capture it.
